Hi there I am Kristen!

Supporting trauma therapists in creating sustainable businesses.

I know how it feels to invest in specialized trauma training yet your income remains flat year after year.

Just like you, I became a trauma therapist because I wanted to help.

I wanted to support women in resolving the effects of early childhood trauma so they could lead fulfilling lives free of the impact of trauma.

I took all the trainings and paid for the best consultants to support my growth.

Working with clients who experienced childhood trauma is complex.  You can't do it alone.  Most importantly, you can't do it without continuing to invest in your education.  I have spent thousands of dollars and devoted countless hours to be the best therapist I could be for my clients.

And I found that my investments in learning made me a better therapist but my income didn't reflect it.

I was seeing more complex clients because I was highly trained but my income remained flat year after year.  It was a recipe for resentment and burnout.   I felt trapped in the insurance model...wanting to provide affordable therapy but frustrated with all that came with it.

5 years in I decided I needed to do something different.

And each year since, I've expanded my income streams to include teaching, providing consultation, offering intensives and going off the most toxic insurance panels.

I believe trauma therapists deserve to make money.

And I want to support you in developing a business that does just that...while continuing to work with the clients you love.

My career started in the business world.

I returned to school to get my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy a few weeks shy of my 40th birthday.

The first 20 years of my career were spent in corporate and small business settings.  As a matter of fact, my undergraduate degree is in Business Administration and Marketing.  I even took a few classes toward an MBA.  But over time, I realized I wasn't fulfilled solely focusing on business.  As I became more interested in personal growth and holistic health, the idea of becoming a therapist called to me.  I chose Marriage and Family Therapy because I was fascinated by Systems Theory and how relationships influence our development.

I spent the last decade learning everything I could about trauma and dissociation.  I trained in EMDR and became an Approved Consultant.  I completed the ISSTD (International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation) Professional Certificate Program.  I received consultation from the most well-respected clinicians in the field, honing my skills and deepening my expertise.

And while my clinical skills flourished, my income didn’t reflect my growth—in fact, at times, it decreased. I found myself stuck in the insurance reimbursement trap: my extensive training, years of experience, and investment in specialization were undervalued, paid at the same rate as colleagues fresh out of grad school without specialized training.

It was frustrating. It felt unfair. And it became unsustainable.

To keep helping my clients while building financial stability, I knew I had to think differently. I began leveraging my unique blend of business experience and clinical expertise, stepping into new roles: facilitating  workshops, offering individual and group consultation, training clinicians and offering EMDR Intensive therapy. Slowly, I transitioned away from reliance on insurance reimbursement, raised my rates, and improved not only my income but also the quality of care I could offer my clients.

Today, my passion is helping trauma therapists like you break free from the constraints that lead to burnout and resentment. I support therapists in creating practices built around their strengths—practices that honor their training, nurture their well-being, and deliver both emotional and financial rewards.

Now I want to help other trauma therapists develop practices that support them in achieving the financial stability they deserve while still doing the work they love.
